Equipment
Capabilities
While
the majority of our work is CNC, we have maintained and upgraded
our conventional equipment to enable us to provide services for
low volume and prototype jobs.
A Summary of Our Equipment List:
MILLING
CNC: We
have a total of 14 CNC machining centers with a maximum envelope
capability of 86”x35”x29.5” vertical and 40”x 31 ½ “x 31
½ “ horizontal. Three horizontal and two vertical machining
centers have full 4th axis capabilities.
Conventional
and Hybrid:
In addition we have nine bridgeports with Prototrack or Anilam
CNC controls and 25 conventional bridgeports equipped with digital
readout systems.
TURNING
CNC: Jewett has eight CNC
lathes with a maximum turning diameter of 59", length of 31 ½"
and weight of 4400 pounds. Three of the lathes are screw machines.
Conventional
and Hybrid:
We have 17 conventional lathes with a maximum length of 120".
GRINDING
- 1 Sunnen CK-21 computerized
vertical honing machine.
- 1 Hanchett 42” vertical
spindle rotary grinder.
- 2 Karstens high precision
universal cylindrical grinder, 10”x 30”.
- 1 Karstens K10-11 high
precision universal cylindrical grinder with electronic infeed,
automatic cycle and internal grinding capability, 12”x 30” external
grinding capability.
- 1 Okuma GP-34N CNC cylindrical grinder with max diameter
of 300 mm and max length of 1 meter.
- 4 Surface grinders
with maximum capacity of 12”x 48”.
- 5 Additional various
grinders.
FINISHING
- 1 3 CF Sweco vibratory
finishing machine.
- 2 Trinco dry blast
machines, maximum capacity 48”x48”.
- 1 Walk-in spray booth
and painting equipment.

INSPECTION

model 4064-20/24 CNC coordinate measuring machine - 40”x 64”x
24” measuring range.
- 1 Mitutoyo model F805
coordinate measuring machine with Geopack 300 software and Renishaw
PH8 touch trigger probe.
- We have a full complement
of inspection equipment for in-process and final inspection.
ENGINEERING AND
PROGRAMMING
Machine
tool programming utilizes Applicon Bravo PC and a DNC network
using Folders software. The software is run in a Windows environment
on pentium PCs and is capable of importing customer CAD data in
several formats via modem or customer-provided disk.
JEWETT Machine’s subsidiary,
JEWETT Automation,
is available to provide services from degreed engineers if needed.
